That would actually break the language barrier. He can think in English, but speech can be in any language with automatic translation.

It's not a stretch to imagine people wearing headsets that get the broadcasted speech data and then replay it in the user's native language.

Yes? We didn't stop testing on monkeys, we just got a lot more selective about who got told about that. It's not pretty, but in order for science to advance, with the technology we have today, it involves testing on animals, because it would be worse to test unsafe things on humans.
